observing session without passing the telescope through the Lagoon Nebula. It is 90 arcminutes across. That's nearly twice the size of the moon. It is an easy target naked
eye from a dark sky. And through binoculars it is stunning. It's not hard to spend several minutes here during any observing session. This large cloud envelops 100 light years of open space and is estimated to be 4900 light years away.
