The Observatory Project at Plettstone

The project was officially completed on Christmas Day 1997. The Dale Jay Steed Observatory saw its first light that night.
I dedicated the building to my father in the cold still air. The night was black and the night's wonders presented themselves in all their gala in honor of my dad.
My father is not a famous astronomer nor is he an accomplished scientist. What he is good at is instilling a love of science with the uninitiated. His school boy giddishness and excitement spill over to everyone in his presence. Thanks dad for the most wonderful gift in the world.... the desire to pursue this science that is so pure and wondrous.
