For several years, I have been tromping around in
the Santa Cruz mountains. My primary interest in photography started out
to be wildflower macro. But the winter wet season astounded me
with
the wild variety of mushroom life. Here we see a banana slug devouring a
red russula mushroom. During a break in work in 1993, I had the
opportunity to spend a solid 3 months laying in wet mud puddles shooting
these wonderful subjects. It wasn't long until I had a fine collection of
mushrooms in my slide box. Ever since then, the yearly mushroom hunt has
added to that treasure. Come, share the fruits of the rain with me. Use
the photo buttons above to see other mushroom samples.
